Perth’s fixed speed camera fleet is expected to be boosted by Friday, as part of a police rollout to target speedsters.

The two new sites are the Mitchell Freeway in Stirling and the Kwinana Freeway in Success.

Another site on the Roe Highway in Willetton has also been earmarked, but a date for installation is yet to be decided.

When all are installed, it will bring the total amount of fixed cameras in Perth to five following the first installation on the Mitchell Freeway in Innaloo.

However, WA ranks lowest across the nation in the fixed camera tally.

It is believed New South Wales leads the states with 130 fixed speed cameras, Victoria ranks second with 22, and Queensland and South Australia follow with 15.

New Zealand also has implemented 56 speed cameras.

The last fixed camera installed on the Kwinana freeway on July 12 has issued nearly 3600 infringements.

More than two thirds of those infringements have been for incidents where motorists do not exceed the speed limit by more than 9km/h.

The camera also caught eight motorists who were driving in excess of 41km/h over the limit........................
